Although I must admit I'm not really sure what to do with it. The god of bad timing has struck this year, in that I've just escaped from being swamped under GCSE marking, for
lupercal is submerged with NWO writing. He's also on evenings this week, with a double shift on Friday night, and is away all next weekend as well, actually. So I'm looking at my calendar and wondering what exactly to *do* for the next three weeks until we're off to Orkney. Post Harry Potter blues probably, as that was the thing I was looking forward to all last week, and then it was all over early Saturday afternoon.
I've even been into work today, just for a couple of hours to get rid of some old folders, and get a few bits and pieces I can be working on over the summer. I've got a reasonable amount of work to do, so I could get on with it, but it's just not very...*fun*.
This is the problem with the summer holidays. You get all excited about the prospect of them, and having a long break from work, and then they come round and you're left just feeling rather flat about it.
It's a bit like the 'Flaming Vesuvius' or 'Magic Fountain' from a Standard fireworks box when you were a kid - perfffphissssssssssle
Sttll, I suppose it's rather ungrateful to moan about a five week holiday. So I think I shall make myself a coffee, watch Friends on E4, and then spend this evening writing a list of all the things I'm going to do this summer.

Date: 2005-07-19 10:33 am (UTC)And as for holidays - i always feel that we put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We have time off work so we should be doing something exciting. I always feel like ive wasted my day if ive spent it lazing in front of the tv or playing on the pc but we all work bloody hard for a living and maybe we should give ourselves a break!
