Marathons, sharks and beer

Wow. I didn't watch it myself this year, but I've just been reading the news coverage. Paula Radcliffe manages to stop for a piss and *still* win the London Marathon with a five minute lead. That's impressive. I also thought this is a wonderful example of Englishness.
Rather closer to home, it's been a good weekend so far. Friday night I was pretty exhausted - had managed to get the Course File completed and handed over to the Inspector's Base Room. It's interesting just how much stress takes it out of you - I've noticed my efforts at the gym dwindling into patheticness as the week wore on. Friday I put a veto on the gym entirely, cooked Mexican, and then we drank beer, watched crap TV, and were in bed by midnight. Yesterday was a pottering day - got some work done, went to the gym... and soon it was time to head out to SNGFGSGSGSGS. A good night, and we both managed to get curiously drunk for the amount we drank. Delicious chips on the way home.
And today, gentle reader, is Simon's and my aniversary (which also means it's Rob-sans-LJ's birthday, so birthday wishes and all that). As long as the sky doesn't get any greyer, we're heading off to Kenilworth castle with a picnic. In short, it's been the best year of my life and I love him so much.
Anyway, it's time to pack a hamper!
