Only mad (puppy) dogs and LARPers...
Sep. 5th, 2004 02:35 pm...and driving, actually - lots and lots of driving.
Well, yesterday saw Kato installed in the Canine Feminist Collective. Wolverhampton is one of those places that *looks* near on the map, but in fact takes eleventy billion hours to get to. Still the puppy delivery went well - and hopefully she has lasted the night.
After that it was up to Irlam Hall(?) to see
lupercal and lots and lots of other LARPers. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten my road map, and all I had was a scrappy piece of paper with some hastily written down directions. I can now assure you, gentle reader, that J15 of the M6 is *not* the A52.
So eventually, after over two hours and getting *horrendously* lost - driving into Stoke and out again, though Newcastle, and down to Cheadle - I eventually found the place. *Not* a good journey to attempt in the dark.
I'd also been under the impression that games timed out a fair bit earlier than they actually do, and it was only talking to
ashenkat earlier that afternoon that I was informed things carried on until around midnight. But there was no mobile reception on site and I couldn't really not turn up. I'm somewhat bemused as to why Si wanted me to go at all, but at least I'll know for next time.
Due to getting so lost last night, I wasn't really sure of how to get back, but decided the best option was to head into Ashbourne and then pick up signs for Lichfield. It was probably the wrong way, but at least I got to honk against animal abuse. I'm not sure what animal abuse was being protested against, but I gave them a good honking anyway, as requested, and they seemed quite pleased with it.(1.)
And now, gentle reader, I think it is, unfortunately, time to go to the gym. Chiz, curses.
Edit 1. After consulting consulting the road map it was, of course, the Newchurch guinea pigs.
