Review of the week
Sep. 2nd, 2007 12:49 pmWell, the week started well, with a trip to Baddesley Clinton with
nyarbaggytep
mr_cook and R (sans LJ). I took some photos of bees.
Even though Tuesday was Back To School, that was okay due to the GCSE English results being so phenomenally fantastic. Also good to see esteemed colleagues. And we don't really start *proper* working until next week anyway.
Unfortunately
lupercal was Very Ill Indeed with suspected food poisoning. Suspected, that is, until my assumed "too much caffeine indigestion" manifested itself also as being Very Ill Indeed as I returned from work on Wednesday to oesophagusly review the contents of my digestive system under lavatorial scrutiny.
Again. And again. And again. Until about two o' clock in the morning I think. You know when you get to the stage when there's nothing more to come up but you can't stop retching, and neither can you actually breathe. I'd forgotten just how much it takes it out of you. My stomach and chest muscles have just about stopped aching now.
So Thursday was a very miserable day, composed of dozing and trying to drink water.
Friday was a bit better, as I managed to eat something.
Saturday, our reupholstered furniture arrived, which was actually very exciting. And Tesco brought us food.
Today I was supposed to be running a half marathon in Wolverhampton, but had to admit to myself when I got up at 7 o'clock this morning that I am not, in fact, well enough. Gutted, as it was a medal *and* a t-shirt. (I had, unbelievably got my kit out ready last night, so desperate was I for my running tat. And if it had been an 11am start rather than a 9.30 I might just have managed to make it there and crawl the 13 miles) Still, this is probably the wisest course of action, even if I do feel a bit miserable.
I have rewarded myself with a consolation mug of coffee. And it doesn't hurt to drink it at all. Honest.
Anyway - you got pain - at least you know you're alive.
