Nepal: Sanjiv Kumar Karna
Sanjiv Kumar Karna, a student at Ram Sagar Ram Swarup Multiple College in Janakpur, was one of 11 people who were reportedly beaten and arrested by 25-30 army and police force personnel on 8 October 2003. They were then taken to police detention and interrogated. Six were subsequently released.
Sanjiv and four friends – Durgesh Kumar Labh, Pramod Narayan Mandal, Shailendra Yadav, and Jitendra Jha – have not been heard from since.
