Things and stuff...
Feb. 8th, 2006 01:14 pmAnother of those updates as much to remind me what I've been doing with my life as anything else.
The weekend before last, we headed up to Oswestry, and visited the Roman remeains at Wroxeter, Oswestry Hill Fort, Whittington castle, and Ellesmere. We spent a bit too much time getting lost. Shopshire, it seems, doesn't like to make it easy for the casual visitor. In the end, we won though. We had a very good Thai meal. (If anyone happen to be in Oswestry, I could highly recommend it. I can't remember the name, but it's the only Thai restaurant there), and took in the ambience of a few pleasant pubs.
The Tearooms at Ellesmere however are to be avoided at all costs.
I'd never considered going to Oswestry before, but it certainly seems to be a good base for doing Shropshire and North Wales. We only stayed one night though, so couldn't fit in everything we could have done.
Somewhere in between the two weekends, we managed to do a respectable number of times at the gym.
Last weekend wasn't *quite* as busy, although did involve lots of greatr company, with
november_girl's and
ephraim's engagement party on the Saturday evening. On Sunday,
lupercal was at a NWO meeting all day. I started off well on a day of Doing Stuff - heading to the gym in the morning, and cleaning out some rats. Then it all started to go downhill, and I spent most of the afternoon pining and waiting for him to get back. Don't know how I'll manage when he goes back to work as I've got too used to the pleasure of having him around all the time.
Sunday evening was Superbowl, which I didn't take much part in, but it was good to see folks.
Two more days till half term, which I'm *really* looking forward to...
