Beer and sun and walls!
Jun. 2nd, 2004 03:12 pmHurrah! for internet access in pubs in the middle of nowhere!
Although *in theory* I know how to SMS to LJ, and according to the gateway my testmessages are working, when it comes to it - nada, nilch - so I thought I'd do a quick update here.
Day...4 I think. Bloody glorious weather. I've half a pint left and then another 2.5 miles before we reach the end of today's walk and climb aboard the fantastic Hadrian's Wall Bus, for Hexam and Harry Potter.
Yesterday it absolutely chucked it down, but it didn't matter as we were only walking four miles and had a B&B at the end of it. We sat on the bed, looked out of the window at the driving rain and lightning, listening to the thunder, and felt very consoled indeed that we were in and it was out.
Our campsite today is run by Nazis, but we have the High Hermitage to look forward to tomorrow.
Right. time to drink beer and walk, goddammit - walk!
